Christina Conte M.S. CCC-SLP, CNT
Hi, I'm Christina and the owner of The Feeding Fix! I'm a licensed and certified Speech Language Pathologist and Certified Neonatal Therapist and I specialize in infant development and feeding.
Originally from New York City, I've lived in Scottsdale, Arizona for 21 years.
Education:
B.A. Psychology, NYU 2002
M.S. Communication Disorders, ASU 2008
My career:
My career started in 2008 in the Acute Rehabilitation & Acute care settings in Level 1 trauma hospitals, working with a vast patient population from ages 16 to 100+, following various diagnosis such as stroke, traumatic brain injuries, cardiac patients, cancers, transplant patients, Parkinson’s, dementia and tracheostomy patients. I specialize in dysphagia (swallow) therapy, speech/language and cognitive therapies, working in collaboration with many medical specialties as well as physical, occupational therapy and social work. Additionally, I have supervised a number of graduate Speech Language Pathology students during their hospital rotations.
A decade ago, I entered the amazing world of Neonatal Therapy in Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU), supporting medically fragile & premature infants and their families as they begin their pre-feeding and oral feeding journey. My experience extends to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) with infants and children as well as postpartum units with the newborn population.
Seeing parents' joy when able to successfully and confidently help them and their little ones through feeding challenges, is what inspires me to be a part of their journey!
Christina is a mom too!
I'm a mom to an amazing energetic little boy, who is my pride and joy and who keeps me on my toes! I've been through breast- and bottle-feeding difficulties, low milk supply, slow weight gain, tongue and lip tie with release, torticollis, plagiocephaly, as well as feeding and physical therapies.
These many speed bumps within my own journey, has furthered my passion for providing parents and caregivers with the tools needed to advocate and help their little ones advance their skills in order to successfully reach their feeding goals!
